DIVING FOR PEARLS(IN YOUR OWN SOUP)

ABOUT

DIVING FOR PEARLS (IN YOUR OWN SOUP) represents the synergy of artistic work, international cooperation and exhibition project. Launching in London in December 2008, this project brings together exciting and emerging artists from the UK and Germany. It also marks the beginning of an ongoing collaborative project to showcase international artists in many more cities across the globe.

DFP was conceived by Munich artists Claudia Djabbari, Carsten Recksik and Tim Wolff who have worked together as artists and have experience of curating various exhibitions in Germany and abroad.

The very nature of DFP is to create a platform for artists to enjoy the freedom to develop ideas, relationships with each other, and really explore beyond the confines of a commercial gallery. The project also provides a critical context for the participating artists. The exhibition reflects current debates in art, as well as wider cultural, social and political concerns.

The first show was realized in four different vacant stores on New Quebec Street, right in the heart of Central London´s district Marylebone, offered by The Portman Estate.

The new show of DFP is opening at the Städtische Kunsthalle Lothringer 13 in Munich on April 1st 2010 >>
